Ok I had to remove the passenger’s seat on a 2014 F30 328,,,,customers concerns were while driving the seatbelt light would come on,,,,with no one in the passenger’s seat,,,,he would re buckle his seat,,,,but that didn’t help,,,,I checked fault memory,,,no faults in system,,,also check control messages were clean,,,,,we asked if the customer would place his cell phone or any objection the passenger’s seat,,,,he said nothing was on the seat when the seatbelt light would go off.
So we decided to remove the passenger’s seat mat as the problem,,,,sometimes they get to sensitive,,,,or they might get some moisture in the foam causing the same problem.
Here the bottom metal seat frame after I removed the seat bottom cushion.
I have to cut all the old hog clips off the old seat cushion,,,,so I can remove the seat leather,,,,there about 20 of these metal hog ring clips on the seat cushion.
This is the new seat mat with the new cushion,,,,the center black and gray area is the seat mat,,,,which is already mounted onto the foam cushion.
Here the under side of the seat leather,,,you can see some staining in the center of the seat leather,,,,this might be the whole problem,,,I now have to attach the seat leather on to the new seat mat foam cushion,,,we use again hog rings to install with special hog ring pliers,,,,,after you put everything back together you have to encode the seat mat,,,,,so the seat at will be enabled,,,,so it senses someone in the seat for the seatbelt light and the airbag system.

Same exact thing happened to me. I had to drive 2 hours with that belt alarm – very anoyoing. I did all sort of thing, including stopping and turning car off – nothing helped. I do not remember any liquid was spilled to the seat before. Fortunately it never came back and I forgot about it over time….

I don’t think you can do that,,,because the sport seat has a different seat module and the vehicle thinks it has normal seats not a sport seats,,,so when you try and program the seat mat it will see a different seat in car that doesn’t belong,,,,I could be wrong but I don’t think it will work,,,,good luck
