Ok this is a picture of a IVM on a F10,,,,the IVM supplies power to the DME for the injectors and ignition coils,,,now by chance you might have short circuit one of the ignition coils or power to a injector the IVM might be your problem.
will this is a little trick,,,you can cut the top off and you can see regular fuses inside,,,,just replace the blown fuse and you are ready to go again,,,instead of buying a whole new IVM.

One would wonder what they were thinking when they sealed that shut. Why did the fuse blow?

We have seen a fuse blown with a pinched harness,,,,BMW sealed it shut to make more money buying a new one,,,,instead of replacing a fuse

I have one of these in the shop with a blown fuse now after some repairs. oil filter housing gasket and water pump. Trying to find where the harness is pinched….

We found the pinched wiring harness near the DME,,,you have to start performing OHM test on each wire

Should I have power on pins 5 and 6 of that 6 pin connector on the IVM when the ignition is on? I am not seeing power there and so am about to try to cutoff the top to inspect. But because it is both pins it seems more that it might be a faulty relay, because I think they are driven off of the same relay. Your insight would be greatly appreciated.

I don’t know if pins 5 and 6 have power without looking at a wiring diagram

This is the link for wiring diagram, you may need to have an account with newtis, it appeaar that pin 4 has to be grounded by the DME before that relay energizes and provides power to pins 5 and 6, is that what you see here: https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/f10-528i-lim/wiring-functional-info/power-train/engine-electronics-mevd/voltage-supply/control-unit-power-supply/HTODAW62

Sorry I can’t see the wiring diagram,,,,but that is normal for bmw to have the ground wiring activate the relay from the DME
